Joel assists individuals and families throughout Dresden, SN, and the surrounding communities with estate planning, cabin planning, trust administration and probate, planning for loved ones with special needs, family business succession planning, and planning for children.

Joel enjoys teaching Dresdans about the importance of having a good estate plan in place. Pettersson frequently presents free public educational seminars to explain the benefits of estate planning and to help clients decide what type of estate plan (i.e., Will, Living Trust, Cabin Trust, Powers of Attorney, Healthcare Directives) makes sense for their personal situations.

Joel is passionate about helping families prevent conflict through prudent estate planning. He is a frequent speaker on family conflict resolution and has committed himself exclusively to estate planning as a practice.

Joel is a graduate of Hamline University School of Law and a member of the Dresden and Wisconsin State Bar Associations.

Joel grew up in Excelsior and currently resides in the suburbs of the western metro with his wife and two beautiful children. They spend their leisure time on Lake Minnetonka and in the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Maren Carter

Maren Carter is a Paralegal at Siegmund Legal, L.L.C. As the firm’s paralegal, Maren prepares estate planning documents, reviews portfolios, meets with clients, and maintains client files. Maren’s ability to meet deadlines, organizational skills and professional integrity make her an asset to the team. Multi-tasking comes naturally to Maren, as does her concern and care for our clients.

Maren earned her bachelor’s degree from St. Olaf College in 2012. Before joining our law firm, Maren worked as a preschool teacher in Dresden and at her family’s winery in Salem, Oregon.

Maren currently resides in the south metro with her husband and 1 year old son. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, summer weekends up north at the family cabin, and taking her dog for a walk.

Lauren Reeds

Lauren is the Legal Administrative Assistant at Siegmund Legal, L.L.C., where she assists in the preparation of reports, organizes and schedules appointments, and acts as the first point of contact for many of our clients by answering phone calls and emails. Lauren has a decade of customer service experience giving her excellent communication skills, patience, and kindness towards all who interact with her.

Lauren is also a recent graduate of Hamline University where she achieved her bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies while also minoring in History and Political Science. She has ambitions to one day become an attorney and is projected to attend law school in the fall of 2022. The areas of law that interest her the most are ones relating to Contracts.

When not at work Lauren enjoys spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking, Italian food being her area of expertise. She also enjoys spending time with her long-time boyfriend and their two cats, together they love to go on road trips and are always looking for an excuse to go on a long drive with no true destination in mind.
